Based in East London, YOUTH MODE is an independent music agency, specialising in music supervision, licensing, bespoke composition, and sound design.

Our current client base includes a number of the world’s biggest advertising agencies and luxury brands. We provide music services for global ad campaigns and fashion runway shows.


ABOUT THE ROLE

The role of music supervisor at YOUTH MODE is a diverse one. You will cover all aspects of the business and be expected to collaborate with existing clients as well as actively pursue new business opportunities for the company.

With autonomy as a hallmark, this position thrives on individual initiative. We provide flexible hours and hybrid work options, but plan to work as a team in our Shoreditch office space at least a couple of days a week.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for music and culture at large, with a strong drive to succeed. Our expanding client base presents an exciting opportunity to become integral to our team’s growth trajectory.

There will be opportunities to travel, primarily to Paris (fashion week), Amsterdam, New York and LA.


Key responsibilities
  • Collaborating with agency producers, film directors, fashion designers, and creatives to oversee individual projects from start to finish, and nurture overall relationships.
  • Developing connections with music rightsholders and artist management globally.
  • Understanding the nuanced art of marrying music to moments. Innovative ideation and implementation of music, whether that be licensing a song, producing original compositions, or sound design. This involves navigating through the complexities of rights holders, intellectual property laws, and the public domain, as well as collaborating closely with composers and sound designers on new music and soundscapes. Music direction for runway shows will involve working closely with the designers, timing and editing the music to the pace and number of models walking the runway, lighting cues, and other key moments within the show.
  • We’re currently in the process of building our own music catalogue. you will be tasked with evaluating new composer submissions and expanding / marketing the library.
  • Actively pursue fresh business prospects and revenue streams.

ABOUT YOU

Experience:

  • Proven track record in music supervision, encompassing a minimum of 3-5 years of experience within a record label, publisher, sync agency, or affiliated industry.
  • Thorough working knowledge of intellectual property rights and licensing protocols.
  • A vast network of clientele and connections spanning advertising, fashion, film, television, with a capacity to utilise these connections to drive business expansion.
  • A proven track record of completing projects and bolstering revenue streams.
  • Highly proactive and motivated, with a wealth of initiative and drive.
  • Assured and passionate, possessing the knack to converse captivatingly about music and modern culture at large.
