A British royal family expert claims Meghan Markle has one “major condition” for Prince Harry for her potential return to the United Kingdom, reports The Mirror.
Tom Quinn, a royal author and expert revealed to The Mirror that Meghan will only return if she and Harry have a place of their own with adequate security.
“Meghan has said she’s only prepared to return to England if she and Harry have a place of their own and the security they both feel is essential.Meghan will never return to the UK and stay with her husband’s relatives. If the couple manage to find a permanent home and sort out the security issue they will certainly want to bring their children to the UK but it’s going to take a lot of diplomacy to get to the point where Archie and Lili are able to develop a genuine and warm relationship with their cousins George, Charlotte and Louis,” said Quinn.
The couple initially resided in England before stepping down from their positions as senior working royals and relocating to a luxurious mansion in California in 2020. Since then they have rarely visited the UK, with Meghan’s most last visit was at the Queen’s funeral in 2022.
This development follows Harry’s successful appeal against the High Court’s ruling that the level of protection afforded to him and his family in Britain is adequate.
The Sussexes lost their full taxpayer-funded police protection when they stepped back from their roles as senior working royals in 2020. Moreover, in June of last year, the couple was also required to vacate Frogmore Cottage, leaving them without a residence in the United Kingdom.
