Aecom, AtkinsRéalis, Ramboll, Stantec and WSP have all won spots on West of England Combined Authority’s (WECA’s) new professional services framework to progress infrastructure schemes in the region.
The framework is an agreement between WECA and the companies to provide professional services on infrastructure schemes. It has been procured by WECA in collaboration with Bristol City Council, North Somerset Council, South Gloucestershire Council and Bath and North East Somerset Council.
The new framework is a renewal of the 2018 framework which WECA said has been “vital in progressing business cases for the City Region Sustainable Transport Settlements Programme across the West of England Combined Authority, Unitary Authorities and in fulfilling a range of business-as-usual professional services functions and providing key professional resources to all of the Authorities”.
Aecom, AtkinsRéalis and WSP were on the previous iteration of the framework that expired at the start of the year. They are joined by Ramboll and Stantec on the new edition of the framework which will be worth £55M and £112M over four years.
The framework can be utilised by all other UK public sector bodies, including local authorities, health, police, fire and rescue, education and devolved administrations. Use of the framework by these other bodies will be done through an access agreement issued by WECA.
Work expected to be conducted by the companies falls under the following categories:
- Market and economic research; polling and statistics
- Consulting services for water-supply and waste consultancy
- Construction consultancy services
- Consultative engineering and construction services
- Project management consultancy services
While WECA originally intended to appoint six suppliers, only five have been selected for this iteration of the framework.
WECA stated: “Each supplier is expected to have multi-disciplinary capability or access to deliver the contracts/work packages granted under the framework agreement.”
