Her leadership at the top of the organisation has guided VisitAberdeenshire through the hurdles of the pandemic and the subsequent expansion of the broader tourism industry to a new high value in 2023.

She will formally step down from her position at VisitAberdeenshire’s annual general meeting on Monday, November 11.

Claire Bruce said: “It has been a privilege to serve as chair of VisitAberdeenshire. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together, and I’m confident that VisitAberdeenshire will continue to thrive and lead the way to drive tourism growth in the North-east of Scotland.”

Chris Foy, chief executive officer, VisitAberdeenshire, said: “Claire’s commitment to the region and passion for tourism have left a lasting legacy. On behalf of the entire team, thanks to Claire for her invaluable contributions and we wish her all the best in her future endeavours.”

VisitAberdeenshire will now begin an open recruitment process to identify a successor.
