The Student Energy Group (TSEG) has been crowned ‘Property Tech Company of the Year’ at the prestigious UK Business Tech Awards in London last night.

The annual awards celebrate the UK’s finest tech businesses and rewards the innovative and exceptional application of technology that transforms and grows businesses. TSEG, a tech-led energy business based in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, was selected from an impressive pool of finalists, beating strong competition to receive the respected accolade at a black-tie awards ceremony held at The Hilton London Bankside on Thursday 19th November.

Judges were highly impressed with not only TSEG’s disruptive technology currently advancing the industry, but its commitment to ‘simply do the right thing’ for its team, customers and suppliers. Since being founded in 2021, TSEG has quickly become a trailblazer in the PropTech industry, known for its ability to change and solve complex challenges through data-led technologies.

TSEG has transformed how landlords and students interact with the rental market by three key means: leveraging strategic partnerships, prioritising face-to-face meetings when the industry is historically faceless and integrating advanced technologies. Its remarkable growth and impact, particularly during challenging periods like the UK energy crisis, underlines its resilience for success.

With a mission to revolutionise the utilities sector, enhance user experience and build technology that adds tangible value, TSEG is poised for continued expansion and success. Alex Back, Managing Director and one of the founders of TSEG, commented: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have been named Property Tech Company of the Year at the UK Business Tech Awards.

“This is a fantastic achievement crediting the whole team. We’re constantly growing and evolving the business, listening to our customers and partners to ensure we’re delivering the highest quality service possible and continuing to ‘simply to the right thing’ – a motto everyone here at TSEG strives to achieve.

“We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us so far and are excited to for the next steps in our journey as we look ahead to 2025.”
