Sue Ryder and Severn Hospice, both found in Welshpool’s High Street, have been nominated for the UK’s Favourite Charity Shop Award 2024, run by the Charity Retail Association.

The award splits the UK up into 12 regions, nominating a select number of shops for each one, letting the public vote on the winners for each area as well as one overall winner in November.

MORE NEWS:

After receiving nearly 6,5000 nominations for charity shops across the UK, a shortlist of six shops per region is now available to vote on, with both Sue Ryder and Severn Hospice being included in the final six for Wales.

Both shops were nominated through customer feedback, with positive comments and praise contributing to them being chosen as one of the best charity shops in the UK, some of which are featured on the Charity Retail Association’s nominees page.

For Sue Ryder, one comment says: “There is a warm, welcoming staff and a caring supportive manager.”

For Severn Hospice, another said: “The shop stands out in the community and the staff not only enjoy working there but also it comes across in the work that they do.”

Customers can vote for each shop before the deadline on September 23 here
