Trump vows to ‘take other countries’ jobs’ while campaigning in Georgia

Donald Trump revealed Iran has threatened to assassinate him and “will try again,” he said after being briefed by US intelligence officials.

“Big threats on my life by Iran,” the Republican presidential nominee wrote on X. “The entire US Military is watching and waiting. Moves were already made by Iran that didn’t work out, but they will try again.”

“Not a good situation for anyone,” he continued. “I am surrounded by more men, guns, and weapons than I have ever seen before. Thank you.”

Meanwhile, Trump and Kamala Harris are essentially deadlocked among likely voters according to a new CNN poll, with the Democrat leading by a one percent margin.

A new Quinnipiac University poll shows the same neck-and-neck result, only with Trump ahead by one percent. Other projections have shown Harris leading by a larger margin. The latest Reuters poll has Harris up six points nationally.

Amid the tightening race, Harris told Wisconsin Public Radio that she is in favor of axing the Senate filibuster in order to codify abortion protections that were previously guaranteed under Roe v Wade. The stance may have cost Harris the support of Senator Joe Machin.

Everything we know about Iran ‘threats’ on Trump

Yesterday Donald Trump was briefed by US intelligence officials on alleged threats from Iran to assassinate him, his campaign said.

The Trump campaign said in a statement: “President Trump was briefed earlier today by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence regarding real and specific threats from Iran to assassinate him in an effort to destabilize and sow chaos in the United States.”

The former president wrote on Truth Social: “Big threats on my life by Iran. The entire U.S. Military is watching and waiting.

“Moves were already made by Iran that didn’t work out, but they will try again. Not a good situation for anyone. I am surrounded by more men, guns, and weapons than I have ever seen before.”

In a rare display of unity, he added: “Thank you to Congress for unanimously approving far more money to Secret Service – Zero ‘NO’ Votes, strictly bipartisan. Nice to see Republicans and Democrats get together on something. An attack on a former President is a Death Wish for the attacker!”

It is not clear when the alleged threats were made.

Iran has yet to respond but has previously denied claims of interfering in American politics.

Trump claims Harris ‘has bigger cognitive problems than Biden’

Trump, whose cognitive state has been scrutinized in recent weeks, tried to turn the tables by wildly claiming Harris “has bigger cognitive problems” than Joe Biden.

The former president, 78, was speaking in Savannah, Georgia on Tuesday when he made the claims about Harris, 59.

Trump told the crowd how world leaders are “laughing at us.”

“We have to be respected. They laugh at us. All over the world, they’re laughing at us,” he said. “And you know what they’re really laughing at? Kamala. Because they can’t believe that she’s going to be president. They can’t believe.”

He then referenced the criticism of his own cognitive faculties. “You talk about cognitive problems? She’s got bigger cognitive problems than he has, in my opinion,” Trump said, referring to Biden.

Trump responds to Senator Joe Machin refusing to endorse Harris

Trump has responded on Truth Social to reports Harris has lost the support of Senator Joe Machin.

On Tuesday, Harris told Wisconsin Public Radio that she is in favor of axing the Senate filibuster in order to codify abortion protections that were previously guaranteed under Roe v Wade.

When asked if he would back her president, Machin said: “That ain’t going to happen. I think that basically can destroy our country, and my country is more important to me than any one person or any one person’s ideology. … I think it’s the most horrible thing.”

Former Clinton adviser has a ‘feeling’ Harris will win

Former Clinton campaign adviser, James Carville, has said he has a “feeling” Harris will win the presidency in November.

Carville told CNN’s Anderson Cooper: “I don’t like to predict elections. I would just say, this just doesn’t feel like a race that Harris is gonna lose.”

“But that’s just a feeling,” he added.

Trump reveals ‘assassination threats’ from Iran

Donald Trump says Iran has tried to have him assassinated and “will try again” after he was briefed by US intelligence officials on alleged threats from Tehran.

“Big threats on my life by Iran,” the Republican presidential nominee wrote on X. “The entire US Military is watching and waiting. Moves were already made by Iran that didn’t work out, but they will try again.

“Not a good situation for anyone,” he continued. “I am surrounded by more men, guns, and weapons than I have ever seen before. Thank you.”

Trump’s campaign confirmed on Tuesday night he had been briefed by US intelligence officials.

“President Trump was briefed earlier today by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) regarding real and specific threats from Iran to assassinate him in an effort to destabilize and sow chaos in the United States,” his 2024 presidential election campaign said in a statement.

‘Are you trying to lose?’: Haley skewers GOP candidate questioning why women over 50 care about abortion

Former Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley gave some biting feedback to a GOP Senate candidate who questioned why women voters over the age of 50 care about the issue of abortion, suggesting it would cause him to lose support.

Bernie Moreno, a candidate in Ohio who made headlines with a shiny Trump endorsement, told a group of voters during a town hall last week that “a lot of suburban women” are “single-issue voters” on abortion.

Everyone is being dishonest about the filibuster — including Kamala Harris

But on Tuesday, she seemed to betray that virtue when she told Wisconsin Public Radio that she would support eliminating the filibuster to restore abortion rights enshrined in Roe v Wade. To be clear, that would mean getting rid of the filibuster only in the case of reproductive access — and not for other issues.
