The event is taking place at Calderdale College in Halifax on Tuesday 10 September 2024 from 8.30am to 10.30am, and includes a free breakfast.
Attendees will:

- Get free advice and training on business start-up, growth and supply chain development.
- Learn how public sector procurement works and how local trades can bid for contracts.
- Explore how local traders can be part of the supply chain for major regeneration projects ongoing across the borough as part of Calderdale Next Chapter(external link).
- Connect with major contractors and discover new sub-contracting opportunities.
- Help contribute to Calderdale’s climate action priority by learning how homes are being retrofitted to become more energy-efficient, and the part that local trades can play.
- Register for free support from the Council’s partner, Go4Growth, which can help traders become suppliers or sub-contractors.
Cllr Sarah Courtney, Calderdale Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Transport, said:
“Calderdale is booming, and we want local trades to be part of it!
“The many tradespeople working across Calderdale do really valuable work in our communities. As part of our priority for thriving towns and places, we want to help them grow their businesses. Putting on events like the Business Breakfast, providing ongoing help through our Council teams and partner organisations, and supporting local suppliers in our projects and contract work are just some of the ways we do this, whilst also contributing towards an inclusive economy that everyone can contribute to and benefit from.”
At the Business Breakfast, attendees will be able to meet Calderdale Council’s Major Projects and Business Support teams, West Yorkshire Combined Authority, other public sector organisations, major contractors including Galliford Try and Keepmoat, and Go4Growth.
