visiting the world’s busiest have been left disappointed after they were unable to get into the sea because it was too busy. Dameisha Beach is a popular located in the Yantian District of Shenzhen, .

It’s known for its beautiful sandy , clear waters, and picturesque surroundings. The stretches about 1.8 kilometres (1.1 miles) along the coastline and is a favourite spot for locals and tourists alike, especially during the summer months.

In addition to swimming and sunbathing, Dameisha Beach offers various recreational activities such as beach volleyball, jet skiing, banana boating, and parasailing.

Visitors can also rent beach chairs and umbrellas for a relaxing day by the sea.

However, tourists who have been to the popular beach fumed after they were unable to enjoy the beach-related activities. Many travellers expressed their anger on the travel forum, TripAdvisor, with one even saying that they “couldn’t get in to the sea” because it was so jam-packed.

One user commented: “Never, ever swim at this beach. The crowds, the pollution in the water both made me very sick.

“If you head a further 1 hour past stinky beach then you will find Dongchong or Xichong beach. Clean beaches, less crowds and even some fun waves.”

A second user said: “It’s a beautiful beach with a long stretch of sand. It’s relatively clean now. But…..with the new Metro stops at DaMeiSha and XiaoMeiSha, it will never be “uncrowded” again.

“The cost from Convention Centre on Metro is 8.8 rmb (97p), much better than the 250 rmb (27.65) taxi ride. Get there early before the crowds.”

A third user said: “Well kept and clean sandy beach. It can get very very busy in the evenings and weekends, take this in to account when visiting, especially if you arrive by bus because they can be packed out too. If you have time take a walk around so you can get a good view, the paths are an easy stroll.”

A fourth user said: “It was years ago that we visited and this year, come back to see many changes, especially, need to register and pay entrance fee. Overall, it worth coming to this beach when staying in Shenzhen City, either on business or leisure. Here would be very crowded during summer time and be expected to have traffic jam. While it is good to relax and take a walk on the beach.”

Meanwhile, the area surrounding Dameisha Beach is developed with resorts, hotels, restaurants, and bars, providing amenities and entertainment options for visitors.

The beach is easily accessible from downtown Shenzhen by public transportation or taxi, making it a convenient destination for both locals and tourists looking to escape the city and enjoy some time by the sea.
