The global luggage storage provider Stasher has shared the top European city break destinations for tourists who are looking to learn about a new culture.

In addition to the warmer weather and change of scenery, many travellers love to visit different countries to observe the local way of life.

According to the company’s study, which took into account factors such as the number of societal attractions, libraries and theatres, the top city for culture in Europe is Paris.

The French capital has always been a popular destination for travel, but those who are interested in the local lifestyle can take their pick from an impressive 57 different parks and more than 60 different literary sites.

However, Paris is particularly impressive for the number of live performance spaces, with Stasher noting that the city features no fewer than 392 venues.

Another great destination for learning about a different culture is Barcelona, with the Spanish coastal city having a wide mix of different attractions.

A city that featured in many different novels from the likes of George Orwell and Hans Christian Andersen, it comes as no surprise that there are an impressive 130 different literary sites across Barcelona.

Tourists can also easily take home a cultural souvenir during their time in Barcelona, with the company highlighting some 44 music and audio retailers.

Finally, Stasher noted that those looking to learn about a different way of life during a short break away should consider visiting Amsterdam, the capital of The Netherlands.

Despite being just an hour away by flight, Amsterdam offers a distinctively laid back lifestyle and features 94 different cultural points of interest, such as the Rijksmuseum and the Rembrandt House Museum.

However, those wanting to see a theatrical production during their time in the city will be spoilt for choice, with Amsterdam having a staggering 1,538 spaces dedicated to live performances.
