Amid increased regional tensions, UK and US on Saturday asked their nationals to leave Lebanon immediately. Earlier, Sweden announced the closure of its embassy in Beirut amid concerns that the Gaza war could spill over into Lebanon’s territory. In Bangladesh, student leaders said they would carry on a planned nationwide civil disobedience campaign until Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina stepped down. In landslide-hit Wayanad of India’s Kerala, rescuers launched a campaign to help survivors in the affected areas. The mission, spearheaded by the army, police, and emergency services, now includes private rescue firms and volunteers. Approximately 206 people are believed to be missing.
