An airline’s service quality and its price all lead to a passenger’s overall satisfaction.
This in turn often results in them forging a loyalty to that particular airline choosing them time after time.
According to PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC), airlines that provide superior customer experiences will see passengers being so loyal they’ll even pay for that airline’s ticket by up to 10% proving loyalty pays.
A new YouGov poll looked at data from customer satisfaction scores of some of the major airlines in the world to further determine which one scored the best overall.
The world’s best was deemed out of 28 other major airlines with the winner being no stranger to prestigious awards.
The top gong and the number one best airline in the world went to Singapore Airlines which was named as the best carrier by Brits.
The YouGov poll gave Singapore Airlines the top honour with a vote of 74 % of passengers saying they were satisfied with the airline.
This puts Singapore Airlines ahead of Emirates who scored 71.9 %.
Third best airline in the world went to Air New Zealand with a score of 70 % who was followed by Virgin Atlantic with 63.9 per cent.
UK airlines then take centre stage in the poll with Jet2 coming in at an impressive fifth best in the world with a customer satisfaction score of 63.8 %.
Next honour went to Qatar Airways at 6th with a 62 % score, Cathay Pacific at 7th with 59 %, followed by Etihad Airways 8th with 59 % and Norwegian 9th with 57 %.
British Airways snared the 10th position making it to the top 10 best airlines in the world with a satisfaction score of 52.6 %.
British Airways shined in the category of passengers likely to book again with just over 52 % of Brits admitting they were likely to book with them again within the next 12 months, placing the UK flag carrier in the top 10 ranking.
Second went to EasyJet with 49 per cent followed by Jet2 with 37 %.
Ryanair was 4th with 32 % of Britons admitting to considering booking a flight with the budget carrier in the next 12 months.
Virgin Atlantic was 5th with 31 per cent with Emirates at 6th with 28 %, TUI Airways at 7th with 27 %, KLM 8th with 20 %.
Finally on the list as the next most “considered” airlines went Qatar Airways ninth with 19.7 % and 10th spot to Etihad Airways with 18 %.
