Teremana, the Tequila brand co-founded by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, is now available in the UK on- and off-trade.
Co-owned by Mast-Jägermeister since February 2023, the Tequila is made at Destilería Teremana De Agave in Jalisco by the Lopez family, who are third-generation agave growers and second-generation distillers.
The brand launched in the US in 2020 and sold one million nine-litre cases between April 2022 and April 2023.
Michael Cleary, managing director Mast-Jägermeister UK, said: “Bringing Teremana Tequila to UK shores marks a significant milestone for Mast-Jägermeister UK, which is in its 10th year as a dedicated subsidiary of Mast-Jägermeister SE.
“Not only is Teremana Tequila a product of craft and attention to detail, but it has a great story and ethos behind it too.
“We look forward to leveraging our experience and network as a distributor as well as part brand owner to fully maximise Teremana’s potential in the UK.”
CEO Richard Black recently told The Spirits Business that the brand will expand its distillery and launch in five new markets this year: the UK, UAE (Dubai), Australia, Colombia and Germany. It launched in global travel retail in March this year.
Co-founder Johnson added: “To now be able to ‘Share the Mana’ with the UK is a privilege and marks a new chapter for us in creating this legacy brand I envisioned. The UK is a special place for me, and I can’t wait to ‘Share the Mana’ over many Teremana toasts in years to come.”
Teremana’s blanco and reposado expressions will be available in the UK this month, with prices from £40 (US$51). Its añejo will be available later in the year.
The brand’s blanco Tequila was awarded a Master medal at The Tequila & Mezcal Masters 2022, while its reposado took home Gold.
