The European seaside city named ‘cheapest’ travel destination – 2 hours from UK

France has been named as the cheapest destination to travel to with a huge drop in prices for those wanting to visit the country.

It is home to a range of exciting holiday destinations including its world famous city of love, Paris or its beautiful beaches in the South of France.

The cheapest location to visit in France is Nice, which might strike people as a surprise.

Nice has had a -27% price drop making it a more affordable destination for Brits.

The second cheapest destination is Castries in St. Lucia which has dropped by 25% in prices.

Third is Bridgetown in Barbados which has dropped by 24% and in fourth place is Rabat in Morocco with prices which are not 24% cheaper.

Just squeezing into the top five is Fargo in North Dakota which dropped in price by 24%.

Colombia remains a consistent affordable option, with Barranquilla emerging for 2025 while Bogotá was present in 2024.

Last year was dominated by destinations in the Americas, while 2025 expands to Europe (Nice, Amsterdam) and Africa (Rabat).

Nice is a popular beach resort which offers a relaxing and scenic holiday, and is only a two-hour flight from London. The city also has an old town to explore and can be visited in a weekend from the UK.

You can take a day trip to Monaco from Nice which takes around 30 minutes and provides an exciting day trip.

One person who visited the Old Town on Tripadvisor said: “We stayed for a week in the Old Town and loved it. The old narrow streets contain a multitude of different shops, restaurants and attractions. 

“The open squares are great for relaxing with a drink or a meal watching the world go by. The markets are quaint and interesting.”
