Bet of the Day
Both Teams To Score 90 mins @ 21/20
Having received a lot of criticism for England’s pragmatic approach during the tournament, Gareth Southgate appeared to give his players more freedom in the semi-final.
The change to three at the back certainly helped the balance of the team and, with everyone fit and available for the final, the manager has plenty of options.
Spain are the top scorers at the tournament with 13 goals in six games and they also top the stats for shots on target, with 37 to date.
Luis de la Fuente’s men have scored 26 goals in their last nine international fixtures, while they have conceded in each of their three knockout matches.
It’s worth noting that three or more goals in the last three meetings between the two sides, while both teams have scored in all of those match ups.
Special of the day
Harry Kane/Jude Bellingham/Phil Foden 1+ Shots on Target @ 13/2
Both Harry Kane and Phil Foden had one or more shots on target during the semi-final win over the Netherlands, with Kane scoring from the spot and Foden hitting the post.
If England are to win on Sunday, many feel Jude Bellingham will have to have a big game and he’s already proven he is a man for the big occasion.
Having played with or against a number of the Spanish squad with Real Madrid, he will hope that experience will be key to the Three Lions getting over the line.
The attacking trio are almost certain to start and, with Spain proving difficult to get in behind of, shots from in and around the edge of the area might be one area they could look to get joy from.
Longshot of the day
John Stones to score a header @ 33/1
It’s fair to say that Spain have been the best team of the tournament so far, but there is one area that England might be able to take advantage of.
All three goals that Spain have conceded have come from crosses into the area and set-pieces may be crucial to England’s chances.
With the likes of Phil Foden and Kieran Trippier, the delivery into the box will be key to Southgate’s men putting pressure on the Spanish backline.
Stones will be sent up for most, if not all, of the free-kicks and corners and he does have previous tournament goals on his CV.
The Manchester City man scored twice in England’s win over Panama in the 2018 World Cup.
