Sunday’s football gets going rather early for UK fans, with a tantalising Copa America quarter-final between Uruguay and Brazil set to get underway overnight in Las Vegas.

Striker Darwin Nunez is establishing himself as the main man up top for La Celeste and they feature in two of our three selections.

We’ve also got one from the Norwegian top tier as Bodo/Glimt and Brann go head-to-head for top spot in the Eliteserien.

Bet of the Day

Uruguay to win – 90 mins @ 7/4

Dorival Junior took over Brazil earlier this year and the Selecao are on a seven-game unbeaten run in his care, but it has not been inspiring and questions are being asked.

They beat England 1-0 at Wembley in a March friendly, that form has taken some knocks since, but have drawn four of their six games since.

Though the manager was quick to point the finger at the officials after a 1-1 draw with Colombia in Santa Clara in midweek, his side was second-best for large spells of that game.

They are also without the services of Vinicius Junior after he picked up a second caution of the tournament in that stalemate.

And they are facing a Uruguayan side that scored nine and conceded only one in the group phase. La Celeste are flying under former Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa, whose typical high-pressing game will ask questions of the Brazilian backline.

Uruguay look well placed to take this one inside the regulation 90 minutes.

Special of the day

Bodo/Glimt and Brann to draw @ 27/10

First hosts second in Norway’s top tier as champions Bodo/Glimt welcome Brann to the Aspmyra Stadion.

Nine points split this pair at the end of last season but it’s just a two-point gap now as the current campaign nears halfway.

Bodo have played a game less and could put some real daylight between the pair, but they recently went three games without a win and Eirik Horneland’s visiting side may make things tough as they bid to extend their unbeaten run against the champions to four games.

A point apiece would likely see both teams content.

Longshot of the day

Darwin Nunez to score two or more – 90 mins @ 11/1

Darwin Nunez is really flourishing under the guidance of Bielsa as Uruguay boss and now has 10 goals in as many games for his country since the enigmatic manager was installed.

He showed his form with a pre-tournament hat-trick in the 4-0 rout against Mexico and was on target in La Celeste’s wins over Panama and Bolivia to bring his tally of international goals to 13.

He played the entire game in the opener and was withdrawn after 83 and 88 minutes subsequently. Luis Suarez, now aged 37, meanwhile has managed just 11 minutes of playing time across those three games.

Nunez looks sharp right now and he’s set to face a Brazil side with only two clean sheets in 11 games – with one of those coming against Costa Rica in a bitterly disappointing start at this tournament.

He should get chances in Las Vegas and it’s worth having an interest in Nunez hitting the jackpot with a brace (or more) that can solidify his status as Uruguay’s leading man.
