The most enjoyable night in the UK music business calendar is back – with a new name.

The Music Business UK Awards, presented by Music Business Worldwide, will take place on the evening of Tuesday, November 5 at the Grand Connaught Rooms in Covent Garden, London.

The event will once again celebrate the best examples of A&R and talent development in the UK market, while also recognising standout artist/songwriter management.

Two new awards are being introduced for 2024, led by the International Executive of The Year Award.

This award will celebrate a non-British company leader who has personally and materially furthered the global careers of UK songwriters/artists. It will be voted for by UK-based subscribers of MBW’s premium tier, MBW+.

In addition, the Artist Lawyer of the Year Award will recognize a UK-based individual providing crucial direct services to talent, both domestically and around the world. The UK talent management community will vote for this award.

Elsewhere, the Music Business UK Awards 2024 is proud to once again host three very special awards:

  • The Sir George Martin Award: Created in collaboration with Sir George Martin’s estate, this annual award recognizes a British A&R/talent development supremo enjoying global success, while continuing to foster a close relationship with the artist and songwriting community;
  • The Icon Award: Presented to an industry veteran whose actions have truly changed the game for the creative side of the music business… and whose influence continues to reverberate today;
  • Trailblazer (The Richard Antwi Award): Recognising the extraordinary achievements of an emerging entrepreneur and/or artist manager who has made waves in the music business over the past year.

The Music Business UK Awards, formerly known as The A&R Awards, will once again put A&R, artist development, and musical creation at its heart.

Other awards on the night will include an array of individual A&R Of The Year gongs across multiple genre categories, plus our annual Songwriter Of The Year and Producer Of The Year prizes.

In addition, we’ll present Label Of The Year, Artist Services Company Of The Year, and Publisher Of The Year awards. Covering both the indie and ‘major’ sectors, these categories will be judged purely on each UK company’s domestically-signed talent.

The list of categories for the Music Business UK Awards 2024 will include:
