The university is ranked 26th in the UK and falls within the 201-250 range worldwide.
The 2025 rankings, featuring more than 2,000 institutions, were published on October 9.
The university has shown particular strength in the ‘international outlook’ pillar, securing 43rd place globally.
This pillar assesses the university’s ability to attract students and staff from across the world.
This year, the University of Reading has also improved its scores for teaching and research quality.
Professor Peter Miskell, University of Reading pro-vice-chancellor for education and student experience, said: “These latest league table rankings place Reading firmly within the top 30 UK universities, out of more than 100 UK institutions featured.
“We remain strong in our international outlook, which is something we are very proud of.
“We have an international community here at Reading, made up of both staff and students, and we work with institutions around the world to help solve some of society’s greatest challenges.”
