Prince Harry announces next high-profile trip – but Meghan won’t be joining him

Louis McKechnie, 23, Christopher Bennett, 27, Riley Ings, 27, Claire Smith, 26, and Rachel Steele, 48, were found guilty at of criminal damage at Southwark Crown Court today.

Mr McKechnie said: “I’m not surprised by the verdict, I don’t feel any guilt for my actions, but I don’t expect the courts to actually be about justice and truth, it’s about maintaining the status quo and it has effectively done that.

“This action was three years ago. Since this action, over the last three years, we’ve reached 1.5 degrees in warming, we’ve hit 40C, and we’ve gone over that several times. Climate emergency has got worse.

“My generation’s in a worse position than we were three years ago exponentially with the climate urgency we’re facing, it’s even more urgent we do something about it now, although there is less that can be done.

“And so, while this is generally the result we expect when we take these actions – you know, I take responsibility and accountability for I did – I feel no guilt, and I think it was the correct thing to do at the time.”

Following the news that King Charles has stripped Prince Andrew of his private security at the Royal Lodge, there is considerable speculation about where the Duke of York could live next.

PR expert Ronn Torossian said that Andrew, 64, will have ruled out renting or buying in London because of his financial worries.

He told the Express: “A seemingly more appropriate place would likely be Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate, given its isolation and would definitely help keep Andrew away from the public eye.”

The property has five bedrooms and has been described as a “comfortable open beamed cottage two miles from the ‘big house’” – a dramatic difference from the royal lodge, which is a 30-room mansion.

Andrew was given a 75-year lease on the property by the late Queen Elizabeth II for £250 a week in 2003.

This is the latest blow for the Sussexes, who have struggled to retain their staff.

A source told Closer magazine: “The brutal reality is Harry and Meghan are the toughest of taskmasters, they are very demanding and difficult to work for, and that puts a lot of people’s backs up.”

While Meghan has soft-launched jams and dog biscuits from the brand on social media and unveiled its logo, an official launch date has yet to be revealed.

Royal expert Tom Quinn told The Mirror: “Meghan was in tears when the brand launched, and her new jam was widely mocked for being expensive and nothing special.”

He added: “She has reached the point now where she thinks that anything and everything she does will be unfairly criticised. Like her husband, she feels that people are unfairly picking on her – she cannot understand why people don’t admire her work.”

Harry, who turns 40 on 15 September, will travel to the Big Apple for the UN General Assembly High-level Week and Climate Week.

“[The duke] will participate in engagements with African Parks, The HALO Trust, The Diana Award, and Travalyst,” the spokesperson said.

As part of the trip, he will also “be furthering the work of The Archewell Foundation, the nonprofit organisation he co-founded with his wife Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex.”

The duke’s last solo trip was to the UK earlier this year, which marked the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.

This comes four years after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as working royals and moved to California.

Describing themselves as an “old friend”, the insider told The Times: “He’s an angry boy. Things haven’t turned out how he wanted. I think he misses being over here [in Britain] desperately and wants to be admired more.

“Anyone who knows him feels he’d rather be top of the pops here with everyone loving him, as they do with William and Kate.”

Following the news that King Charles has stripped Prince Andrew of his security at the Royal Lodge, it has been suggested that the property could be given to Prince Edward and Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh.

Richard Kay told the Daily Mail: “Charles has entertained the thought of offering Royal Lodge to his youngest brother Prince Edward.

“The two haven’t always seen eye to eye, but the King has been hugely impressed by the manner in which Edward and his wife Sophie have increased their workload since their elevation to Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.”

Columbian official Andres Escobar said that the trip was used by vice president Francia Marquez as a distraction from the bigger issues facing the country.

Ahead of the visit, it was claimed that the tour would “illuminate” Colombia’s role on the world stage as a beacon of culture and innovation.

“There are many, many Colombians who are hungry and have a lack of basic needs,” Mr Escobar claimed, OK! magazine reports.

“They invested this money because the Vice President wanted to meet two high-profile public figures and brush aside criticism and problems that we have here.

“We are in an economic crisis and eight billion pesos have been spent for the visit of Harry and Meghan, Colombian military planes and helicopters have been used and the money could have been better spent.”

A source told OK! magazine: “Both Meghan and Harry are keen to do more of these tours as that’s what they love doing and what they enjoyed most about royal life.

“But they’ve been left embarrassed by this latest backlash, especially as they faced similar comments when they went to Nigeria.”

Taking to Twitter/X, the heir to the throne wrote on the official Kensington Palace account: “Sad to hear about the passing of Sven-Göran Eriksson.

“I met him several times as England manager and was always struck by his charisma and passion for the game. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

“A true gentleman of the game. W.”

It has been speculated that the frosty relationship between Prince Harry and William could “soften” when King Charles passes away.

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond claims that while the Duke of Sussex would like to make amends, William does not “waste any of his life thinking about his brother”.

She told OK! magazine: “You can only go to a coronation if you are invited and, at this stage, I suspect Harry would not be invited. However, that day is hopefully someway away and it’s possible that William’s attitude may have softened somewhat by then.”
