Gymshark is inching closer to opening its first permanent U.S. store.

The U.K.-based fitness brand opened a pop-up at 105 Wooster Street in New York’s SoHo on Saturday that will remain through the end of January.

The company has said it will open a flagship in New York in 2025, although the location and timing have yet to be decided. Gymshark tested the waters in New York in 2017 when it opened a popular pop-up on Mercer Street in partnership with model and fitness influencer Nikki Blackketter. But the pandemic caused the company to delay its plans to find a permanent space. In September, Gymshark held a Lift NY event at Pier 36, which drew thousands of weight lifters and athletes to a weekend of training, and the company also opened North American headquarters in the city.

Mitch Healey, Gymshark’s retail and events director, said, “The sheer appetite for fitness in New York is plain to see. You just have to walk a few blocks to see tons of people draped in gym kit, going to or from their sessions. As we approach the holiday season, we wanted to give our community a destination where they can get hold of their favorite sets, as well as hang out with us. Wooster Street is the perfect venue to bring a taste of what our community can expect from a Gymshark retail experience, and just in time for the holidays.”

The Wooster Street pop-up will offer exclusive merchandise along with Gymshark staples as well as a Christmas tree made from weights, “advent lockers,” where gifts are hidden behind each door, as well as a gift-wrapping station.

Gymshark operates two full-price and one outlet store in the U.K.
