Liam Murphy has replaced Leanne Banks as marketing director at Pernod Ricard UK.
Banks has moved to the position of marketing director, business acceleration at Pernod Ricard’s Scotch whisky arm, Chivas Brothers.
Murphy began his career in marketing agencies, specialising in campaign creation and delivery for companies such as O2 and Brown-Forman. He joined Pernod Ricard nearly 10 years ago, serving in roles including customer marketing manager, senior brand manager and marketing manager.
Most recently he was brand director of a team responsible for marketing Pernod Ricard’s vodka, gin, Scotch whisky, liqueurs and ready-to-drink brands.
Julia Massies, managing director at Pernod Ricard UK, said: “I am delighted to welcome Liam to the team and know he will bring energy and a fresh perspective based on the wealth of knowledge from his strong mix of commercial and marketing experience.”
Murphy will oversee consumer marketing, including brand management, performance, social and experiential activities. He will report to Massies and become part of the firm’s management committee.
In its most recent financial results, Pernod Ricard saw organic revenue drop by 1% in the year ending 30 June 2024 after Cognac sales slipped in China. Chivas Brothers reported a 1.6% dip in net sales.
