Yorkshire Building Society has confirmed that Holly Rankin will become its chief people officer from December 2024, subject to regulatory approval.

She brings more than 28 years’ experience in human resources, including 16 years in financial services.

She will join from Barclays Bank, where she has been managing director HR.

Rankin previously held the roles of HR director, community banks and wealth at Lloyds Banking Group and head of HR for the retail network at Santander UK.

She is experienced in shaping and leading strategic people plans, covering culture change, talent and succession, reward and leadership capability. 

Rankin said: “I am thrilled to be joining the team at Yorkshire Building Society and I am particularly proud to be joining a mutual, purpose-led organisation focused on great customer outcomes and positive impacts in society.

“I’m particularly looking forward to building on the great work already under way to cultivate an ambitious, inclusive culture.”

North Yorkshire-headquartered industrial shredder specialist, UNTHA UK, has made a quartet of appointments.

Bolstering the sales team is Dale Liptrott, who joins the firm as an experienced sales consultant.

With a decade of notable experience, most recently selling capital equipment at CPL UK, he excels in meeting new customers, building strong relationships, and recognising business opportunities.

At his new role, he will leverage his expertise to identify potential clients, nurture long-term partnerships, and enhance the overall sales strategy, ensuring the company’s continued success in a competitive market.

He is joined in the sales department by fellow sales consultant, Rich Wakeley, who holds a strong background in the construction, powered access, manufacturing, logistics and plant hire industries.

With over 12 years of experience in corporate sales – particularly focused on large scale plant machinery and tools – he strengthens UNTHA’s sales department to maintain customer excellence, from new business enquiries through to building solid relationships with established clients.

Also joining the team is marketing and content manager, Alice Kelly, who has worked with the firm for over four years as a supplier.

A PR and marketing professional – with comprehensive experience across a number of technical industries – Kelly is responsible for developing and delivering multichannel communication strategies for UNTHA UK.

Working alongside global marketing coordinators, she will be driving data-led discussions on marketing performance, with a strong focus on demand and lead generation within the UK market.

Service engineer Mark Sandercock completes the new line-up. An experienced mechanical fitter and service engineer, he has a range of experience maintaining heavy plant machinery.

In his new capacity, he will be providing service, repair, and installation support across the UNTHA range, as well as providing strategic advice to keep customers’ shredders in peak performance.

Residential property developer, Vivly Living, has strengthened its marketing team with the appointment of Joe Murray as trainee marketing executive.

He joins Huddersfield-based Vivly from commercial trailer manufacturer Montracon.

Murray, who was educated at New College, Pontefract, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for me. Vivly Living is a highly respected and successful residential developer with a strong presence in West Yorkshire.

“I decided to embark on an apprenticeship, rather than go to university, because I prefer to learn while working. 

“My apprenticeship course is designed to last 18 months, but I am hoping, provided I work hard, I can reduce this to 14.

“I strongly believe that apprenticeships play a key role in career development and I am determined to make the most of this wonderful opportunity.   

“I am joining a close-knit team where I am hoping that my digital marketing skills, including photography, blog and content writing and social media experience, will be a real asset.

“I have always been fascinated by both residential and commercial property. My father is an architect and my grandfather was a property developer, so the sector is in my blood. This is a dream job.”

Jen Wass, head of marketing, added: “Joe’s enthusiasm and his knowledge of digital marketing make him the perfect fit for us as we become busier and busier.

“As a forward-thinking and proactive residential property developer, we are fully aware of the importance of digital marketing and social media campaigns in helping to sell houses, which is why Joe’s appointment is a significant statement of intent by our marketing team.”

Vivly, previously known as Yorkshire Country Properties, is currently on site with developments at Shepley, Skelmanthorpe and Denby Dale.

Em Blalock and Nick Hynes

Leeds-based brand transformation consultancy firm ThreeTenSeven, previously known as Thompson Brand Partners, has welcomed four new hires across the business.

Laura Jones joins the client services team as junior account director with 10 years of agency experience in the creative industry.

Having recently worked at IMA-Home and Syn, she brings a wealth of experience in brand marketing and campaign execution. 

Also joining client services is account manager Alex Keaney, who brings relevant project expertise from employer branding agency Chatter to some of ThreeTenSeven’s high-profile accounts. 

Hired in the Creative team is Erik Winterburn, a designer with nine years of experience in the industry, including agencies in Glasgow, Sheffield, Leeds and Bristol, and significant freelance experience. 

Account executive Haris Khan is the latest addition, a recent Leeds Beckett graduate, hired with assistance from Leeds Beckett’s careers service and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s Business and Skills team.

He provides support to the Client Services team and wider business, to ensure the smooth running of projects and the team, plus marketing support to boost the agency’s profile. 

ThreeTenSeven is supporting growth further with moves in its Strategy team.

Account manager, Em Blalock, has recently moved into the role of strategist, reflecting her academic background and continued professional development in health coaching and behavioural science.

Meanwhile, Nick Hynes takes up the mantle of strategist, building on his 30 plus years of industry experience as a brand voice specialist.

In this new role he will bolster the agency’s strategic firepower particularly in brand strategy and positioning.
