A travel influencer who’s journeyed across Greece, Albania and various other European treasures has unveiled her top pick for an autumn getaway. The sun-soaked paradise offers temperatures of up to 27°C in October and even 23°C in November.
With its golden beaches and crystal-clear waters, it’s the perfect destination for Brits not ready to say goodbye to the summer sun.
‘Laila’, the globetrotter from Sweden, took to TikTok to share her thoughts (@leiitravels). “Searching for the perfect fall holiday? Look no further,” she said.
“With sunny 27 degrees in late October and stunning beaches with crystal clear warm water, Cyprus is the perfect travel destination for your October/ November holiday.
“Big bonus is that you’ll make a great deal and avoid the larger crowds during this period.”
Located just north of Egypt and close to southwest Asia, Cyprus is one of the hottest destinations in the Mediterranean, according to Thomas Cook.
In October, the country typically enjoys around 11 hours of daylight, including eight hours of warm sunshine every day, while rain is very rare. Experts at Thomas Cook add: “The Mediterranean Sea will stop you getting too hot in Cyprus due to its cooling waters and breezes.
“The weather’s similar in the north and south, although the east’s a bit warmer and drier because of westerly winds. This is due to the island’s two mountain ranges, with Mount Olympus the Troodos Mountains’ highest point at almost 2,000m.”
Boasting over 60 picturesque beaches, Cyprus is a haven for tourists, with Paphos, Larnaca, and Nicosia being gateways to some of the hottest spots.
October is prime time for nature enthusiasts who might just catch a glimpse of turtles in the sea.
Experts at EasyDivers Cyprus explain: “We start to see them on regular basis from June. Great time to dive with turtles is August, September or October, when water temperature is very warm and we can take time to admire those beautiful creatures.”
If you’re looking to plan that perfect Cypriot getaway, there has never been a better time, as travel companies are ushering in eye-catching deals this autumn. According to Skyscanner, jet-setters can snap up return flights to Paphos for a steal at £111 during October peak, or touchdown in Larnaca with an £82 ticket.
On another front, Lastminute.com is enticing travellers with alluring packages pairing flights and luxurious hotel stays. Picture four nights at the swish Paphos Venus Beach Hotel, with October escapades starting from just £482 per person flights, appetising breakfasts, and access to a serene blue pool all part of the experience.
