UK-headquartered wireless subsea instrumentation developer Aquatec has joined forces with Norway-based Rental Partnership (RTS), enabling its subsea leak detection technology to be added to the Norwegian firm’s rental offering available to the offshore industry around the globe, including subsea construction, mapping, inspection, and renewable energy projects.

This rental partnership with Aquatec enables RTS to offer the former’s advanced LEAKlog leak detection devices in its rental portfolio, which utilize a broad range of detection techniques.

Andy Smerdon, Managing Director of Aquatec, commented: “This agreement allows us to extend the reach of our LEAKlog technology, providing more offshore companies with access to our innovative solutions.

“Our leak detection technology is critical for ensuring the integrity and safety of subsea operations, and we are confident that RTS’s extensive rental network will help us achieve this goal.”

The technologies include fluorescence, passive acoustic, and thermal gradient detection, allowing for subsea leak detection, which is said to be highly reliable. These versatile devices can be deployed via a diver or remotely operated vehicle (ROV), making them adaptable for various underwater applications.

David Currie, Managing Director of RTS UK, remarked: “The industry-leading leak detection technology from Aquatec is a valuable addition to our offerings, providing our clients with advanced solutions for their subsea projects.

“This partnership aligns perfectly with our mission to supply the best technical solutions to the world’s major offshore companies involved in fish farming, renewables, inspection, seabed mapping, and subsea construction projects.”
