Naval Base San Diego was alerted on Thursday following the reports of an active shooter in the Balboa establishment. The authorities put out a statement warning the residents of an alleged threat near Naval Medical Center. Naval base security and other law enforcement agencies launched an investigation into the incident earlier in the morning. The operations were announced as returned to normal by those in authorities
“Naval Base San Diego and Naval Medical Center San Diego have resumed normal operations,” an update from Naval Base San Diego read on Facebook.
Prior to this, a brief statement was issued by the Naval Base San Diego advising the residents to stay indoors. “The Navy is investigating a security threat (verbal threat) at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Navy security and local law enforcement are actively seeking a person of interest regarding an alleged threat,” the alert posted on social media read.
