Australian gin Papa Salt has secured a distribution deal with DrinksOne in the UK.

Bottled at 43% ABV, the gin will be available exclusively at Harvey Nichols’ stores and online shop from 20 June for £39.95 (US$51).

“We are so excited to bring Papa Salt to the UK market. We fell in love with gin in England’s wonderful pubs, clubs and bars, and we hope Papa Salt is a refreshing addition to the wonderful spirits culture of the UK,” said Charlie Maas, co-founder and CEO.

Maas founded the brand in 2023 with friends Josey McNamara, Tom Ackerley, Regan Riskas and Oscar-nominated actor Margot Robbie.

During five years of experimentation, the five founders examined more than 300 gins, botanical essences and compound gin recipes to create a spirit that ‘captures an idyllic Australian beach day in a bottle’.

The objective was to create the perfect spirit for making a classic Dry Martini, which mixes well with both soda water and tonic.

Papa Salt is a small-batch gin developed in partnership with the Lord Byron Distillery in Byron Bay, Australia, which operates entirely on renewable energy.

Following its initial release in the Australian market, which sold out within 48 hours, the gin brand increased its capacity fivefold.

In Australia, it is distributed through Iconic Beverages.
