In what can only be considered a snub, Prince Harry will not be visiting his father, King Charles III while in the UK, owing to the king’s busy schedule. Prince Harry has returned to the UK to attend a service of thanksgiving at St. Paul’s Cathedral to mark the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games. The Invictus Games were founded as a sporting event for injured military personnel and veterans. This will be the first major event he has attended in the UK for some time. A spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex claimed that it is “not possible” for him to see his father due to the king’s “full” schedule. In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not the Duke will meet with his father while in the UK this week, it, unfortunately, will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full program, Prince Harry’s Spokesperson. The duke, of course, is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon, Prince Harry’s Spokesperson. Meghan Markle recently came under fire for opting not to join Harry on his trip to the UK for the anniversary of the games. A spokesperson confirmed that the Duchess of Sussex was not planning to travel to the UK. However, Meghan will fly from the US to Nigeria to meet her husband immediately afterward. Markle has only briefly visited the UK three times since she and Prince Harry officially left the royal family in 2020. Prince Harry has since made a few solo trips, including to see King Charles following his cancer diagnosis in February. Prior to the trip, Rumors had been circulating that King Charles was hoping to play the “peacemaker” between Prince Harry and Prince William. Royal butler Grant Harrold, who worked closely with Charles for years, believed it “very likely” the brothers would reconnect over the event. However, reconciliation seems evermore unlikely . Buckingham Palace announced Charles will be handing Harry’s role as Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps to Prince William. Sources have revealed to Page Six that Harry had extended invitations to the event to his family as an olive branch. However, none of the senior royals are expected to attend.
