Actor Kiefer Sutherland is bringing his Canadian whisky brand Red Bank to the UK this month (May).
The Canadian actor, who starred as Jack Bauer on Fox TV series 24, launched Red Bank Whisky in 2023.
On Monday 20 May, the actor will host an exclusive event in London in partnership with distributor Mangrove Global to mark the brand’s official UK launch.
Sutherland, co-founder of Red Bank Whisky, said: “The thing that I found so fascinating about Red Bank and this journey developing the whisky is the incredible pride Canadians take in themselves and their country.
“I was born in England and I know the British people feel the same, but I grew up in Canada and one of the things that I’ve admired about Canada is its great diversity not just in its landscapes and culture, but it’s people as well.
“I am proud to have Red Bank represent all that is authentically Canadian and I am absolutely thrilled to bring it to the UK with the help of Mangrove Global.”
Sutherland co-founded Red Bank with Gary Briggs, Shawn Hiscott and Rob Steele in 2022.
The liquid was blended by master blender Michel Marcil and sits at 40% ABV. It contains a mix of rye, corn and wheat whiskies. Tasting notes include oak spice, orchard fruit, allspice and caramel.
Red Bank Whisky will be available in both the on-trade and off-trade in the UK via Mangrove Global. It will sell for RRP £49 (US$61) per bottle, and will be available from Master of Malt, among other outlets.
Nick Gillett, managing director of Mangrove Global, said: “Red Bank is a product that champions and reinvigorates the longstanding history of the Canadian Whisky category.
“Red Bank is an exceptional liquid that can rely on the outstanding talent of having Kiefer as one of its founders. His involvement at every stage of production, knowledge of the category, approachability, passion for the journey ahead, as well as being great fun, meant this was an easy decision for me to add to the portfolio.
“As purveyors of the very best independent spirits brands, Mangrove have, since the beginning, admired the ethos behind Red Bank Whisky and are proud to integrate this Canadian whisky legacy into our world whisky portfolio. With the UK whisky market predicted to reach US$1.3bn by 2028, this is a great time to add this to our collection.”
