Jeremy Clarkson shared some exciting news about Clarkson’s Farm, and fans are incredibly happy.
The former Top Gear presenter took to Instagram to officially confirm series five of the Amazon Prime Video is coming.
Instead of celebrating the commission with a slideshow of images of Diddly Squat farm, and a written caption, Jeremy saw an opportunity to put on a performance.
As they chose to publish the confirmation on Bonfire Night, Jeremy, 64, decided to lean into the dramatics of the evening.
The British tradition is held to mark the failed 1605 Gunpowder Plot by Guy Fawkes, but Jeremy made the occasion about him. For the special social media post, he stood in front of pyrotechnics which were set off in the shape of a five.
In the short video, Jeremy began by saying: ‘Over the years, bright lights in the sky have been used to make many important announcements – the birth of baby Jesus, for example.
‘But tonight, they are being used to make an announcement that is even bigger than that,’ he joked (we think).
‘Season five of Clarkson’s Farm is coming. Eat your heart out James Burke.’
The accompanying caption repeated the message: ‘It’s the 5th November… this just felt right 👀 Clarkson’s Farm S5 is officially in production 🙌.’
Fans rejoiced after hearing that their favourite show was coming back for a fifth outing and took to the comments section to express their joy.
‘Best news I’ve heard all year 🙌,’ typed Planky98. Avacutts12 was already thinking about the future after number five: ‘Please never stop your series is the best thing ever 😂 so funny.’
Katielm65 agreed: ‘Can we just sign for 10 seasons now cause it’s the greatest show.’
‘Sod the US election result. This announcement is the one!’ said Multivanlife. Her enthusiasm is to be admired, but we should probably all care about politics too.
While viewers were undoubtedly pleased by the update, they also pointed out that they still hadn’t seen series four.
‘Did I miss 4? 😂’ said Skydriver737, with the comment garnering over one thousand likes.
Hypercar_hub summarised: ‘Announcing season 5 before season 4 even comes out is wild.’
This comes after Jeremy shared a health update after revealing he underwent a heart procedure after experiencing a ‘sudden deterioration’ in his health, and was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance.
He was swimming on holiday a few weeks ago in the Indian Ocean, and said it left him ‘mostly dead’ and suffering from worrying symptoms including being ‘clammy’, with a ‘tightness in my chest’, and ‘pins and needles in my left arm’.
He had a stent fitted after doctors discovered that one of his arteries was ‘completely blocked’, and is now thankfully recovering.
He’s now told a fan he’s ‘fine’ after one visited Diddly Squat, who told The Sun: ‘It was great to see him looking so well after what has happened. I was in the pub with my girlfriend and then we went out to the car park and spotted him.
‘He was on a telehandler building a bonfire with Kaleb.
‘Jeremy was shouting instructions to him and they were laughing and joking together like they do on TV. I later saw him at the farm shop and had a chat.
‘We saw him as he came out followed by an Amazon crew.
‘He seemed really cheerful.
‘We asked about how he was feeling after the heart procedure and he said, ‘I’m feeling fine — better than ever’. I shook his hand and wished him well.
‘And Jeremy said, “I’d like to stop and chat but I’ve got a busy day with loads to do”.’
In September, Jeremy teased that series four could be expected to hit the small screen in May 2025, so there is still a while to wait.
Clarkson’s Farm came about after Jeremy took a more hands-on approach to the Cotswolds farm that he’d purchased in 2008. It was decided that the highs and lows of this new venture would be perfect fodder for a TV show, and so a camera crew arrived in the rural village.
The episodes show the realities of agriculture, from economic uncertainty to the horrors of British weather, as well as some devastating moments with his beloved animals on the farm.
Alongside farm manager Kaleb Cooper, land agent Charlie Ireland, head of security Gerald Cooper, and his partner Lisa Hogan, Jeremy has made the series a resounding success.
4.3 million viewers tuned into the debut episode of the second series, setting a new record for Prime Video. Season 3 remained in the platform’s top 10 programmes for more than three months after its release in May.
Jeremy has recently been dubbed a hypocrite after he warned the government that the Budget could be the ‘last straw’ for farmers ‘struggling to cope’.
The update also comes shortly as Jeremy has spoken about undergoing a heart procedure after experiencing a ‘sudden deterioration’ in his health, and was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance.
Clarkson’s Farm is available to watch on Prime Video.
