Jeff Brazier’s bond with his sons was reportedly “made even stronger” by rumours of a family feud involving their grandmother.
EastEnders star Bobby, 21, recently became a fan-favourite when he finished as runner-up in Strictly Come Dancing alongside professional dancer Dianne Buswell.
However, during Bobby’s time on the show, reports emerged that his maternal grandmother Jackiey Budden was barred from appearing in the audience because she had been “feuding” with Jeff for years.
A source claimed to New magazine the “feud” between Jackiey and Jeff is said to have made the This Morning presenter’s relationship with sons Bobby and 19-year-old Freddie “even stronger”.
Both Bobby and Freddie live at home with Jeff and wife Kate Dwyer in Essex.
The source said Jeff and Bobby have a close relationship and have never shied away from discussing their mother Jade, who died in 2009 from cervical cancer.
They said: “Jeff and Bobby have such a strong bond – they’re not just father and son, they’re best friends.
“They talk about everything together, Jeff encourages them and has never shied away from the subject of Jade. They celebrate her and talk about the fun times.”
The source described the family as a “strong unit,” something that has only been enhanced by Bobby’s successful showbiz career.
Bobby joined the cast of EastEnders in 2022, winning the Rising Star award at the 2023 National Television Awards.
Jeff is a successful TV presenter, while Jade was a reality star who focused on raising awareness of her condition after her devastating cancer diagnosis.
Jade and Jeff split in 2004, five years before her death.
Bobby and Jeff will appear together on the latest series of Celebrity Gogglebox, which continues tonight on Channel 4 at 9pm.
