London’s Canary Wharf has long been a popular filming location for Hollywood movies. And today action star Jason Statham was spotted shooting his latest movie in the lobby of One Canada Square.
The 57-year-old is set to reprise Deckard Shaw in Fast and Furious 11 aka Fast X part 2, so could this be it?
Statham was captured inside wearing a suit as his film crew took up almost half the busy skyscraper entrance towards the Elizabeth line.
The star was filming a scene where he leaves the lobby with others before getting inside a black sportscar to drive away.
So could it be the new Fast and Furious movie or even a Hobbs and Shaw 2, as some passers-by on the ground were speculating?
Although the next Fast and Furious movie is in pre-production, it’s unlikely to be filming just yet.
Statham’s upcoming action thriller Levon’s Trade was filming in Canary Wharf earlier this year. Still, it seems much more likely the movie shooting today was one called Mutiny, which he’s also producing.
According to Variety the new film is shooting in UK locations this month and is directed by Plane’s Jean-Francois Richet.
Mutiny, a Sky Original Film, stars Statham as “Cole, an ex-Special Forces and New York cop who was kicked off the force and now works in private security for Thai shipping tycoon and friend, Tibu. Cole is framed for the murder of Tibu at the hands of corrupt cops, forcing him to escape through Tibu’s freight ships, where Cole discovers that the corruption is deeper and more sinister than ever expected.”
