A new luxury train service is coming to Norway and it’ll be connecting the country’s southern and northern coast.
The Norient Express, named after Norway and the famous Orient Express, a long-distance passenger luxury service, will offer service in autumn 2026.
The service will be travelling between the city of Bergen on the southwestern coast to the city of Trondheim, located on the Trondheim Fjord in central Norway.
The train will pass through Oslo, the Norwegian capital, which is on the southern coast.
With a journey of just over 594 miles, it said it would take no less than six days for it to be completed. There will be multiple stops along the way, where passengers will get to see some of the country’s most popular tourist sites.
However, most details about the itinerary are yet to be released.
The new luxury train will be operated by two electric trains that will be furnished with locally sourced pieces made from natural materials.
Additionally, there will be an observation car for passengers to enjoy the scenery, as well as a gym car.
Norway has other scenic train journeys that travel throughout the country. The Bergen Line goes between Bergen and Oslo and the Flåm Railway which runs between Myrdal and Flåm is said to the most scenic train journey in Norway.
