A LEADING provider of industrial inspection, maintenance and repair services (IMR) has reached an important milestone by achieving recognition of its commitment to the renewables sector.

TRAC Energy has recently been granted Fit for Offshore Renewable (F4OR) status by the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult, having achieved the F4OR standard to have in place the key management systems and competencies required for success in the sector.

The F4OR scheme is a unique service designed to help UK companies bid for and deliver work for renewable energy customers. Its objective is to help develop competency, capability and competitiveness in the supply chain whilst maximising opportunities on domestic and international stages.

The in-depth process of participating in the F4OR scheme has enabled TRAC to further sharpen its strategy for winning and delivering major IMR projects within the sector, and to maintain a high level of commitment to a fair transition. This is evidenced by the creation of TRAC Renewables – a highly experienced project management and engineering team, which enhances synergy between skillsets and experience within the TRAC group.

TRAC Renewables delivers turnkey assurance solutions, focused on asset integrity and statutory compliance, underpinned by a range of modular, out-of-the-box, project support services.

During the F4OR process, the team has been bolstered by the creation of an advisory board of industry specialists and development of a renewables-focused talent acquisition team (TRAC Talent) which sources trained and experienced staff for TRAC projects, as well as for external clients and supply chain partners.

Over the period of engagement, workload attributable to renewables has trebled and the company is engaged on projects throughout Europe and the UK.
Now, it is hoped that the F4OR success will further underpin TRAC’s ambitions for growth in the sector, including a permanent presence in Europe and a steady increase in headcount to include more specialist and site staff in the coming months.

Commenting on the news, TRAC Renewables F4OR Programme Manager Kenny Wiggins said: “Back in 2021, TRAC Energy defined the offshore renewable energy sector as a major strategic priority, with a strong combination of political, environmental and economic factors indicating the start of a new phase of maturity in the sector.
