Aldi is looking to hire hundreds of new staff members in Merseyside. The supermarket giant is looking for people of all levels of experience to fill roles at its stores across the region.

This includes both full-time and part-time positions such as Store Management Apprentices and Store Assistants, all the way up to Assistant Store Managers. Stores in Merseyside where Aldi is looking to hire include Bootle, St Helens and Birkenhead.

There will be a total of 150 new jobs up for grabs. Starting pay for Store Assistants at Aldi is £12.40 per hour nationally. This can rise to £13.65 per hour.

You’ll work between 10 and 40 hours per week, with a mixture of shifts available. Aldi is the only UK supermarket to provide paid breaks.

Those on the store management apprenticeship will earn £8.44 per hour in their first year. This will increase to £10.18 per hour in year two and £11.83 per hour in year three.

Meanwhile, those who receive a position as an assistant store manager will be £35,625. This will rise to £43,440 after four years.

The news comes after the supermarket chain announced they were looking to fill 180 roles across the region earlier this year as part of a nationwide expansion drive. Aldi pledged to create a total of more than 5,500 new jobs up and down the country in 2024.

Kelly Stokes, recruitment director at Aldi UK, said: “As we continue to open in new areas, we’re looking to welcome hundreds more colleagues to our amazing teams across the country.

“We want even more people to be a part of our success in the future, which is why we offer a great working environment and opportunities to progress within the business.” Further information about jobs at Aldi can be found here.
