Job Summary
We are looking for someone to produce in-house productions and projects, support visiting productions, work alongside the executive team in planning the logistics of future programming, work on HR and organisational management and deputise for the Executive Director when required.
Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities would include:
Production and Creative Projects
- Day to day management of the producing function at Tara Theatre
- To support the Artistic Director in putting together creative teams
- To be the key contact for stage management, creative teams and casts throughout preproduction, rehearsals, tech, previews and running, attending shows regularly
HR, Management and Administration
- To manage staff recruitment, induction, development and training
- To ensure that HR policies and procedures follow best practice and are communicated and followed across the organisation
- To support funding applications by providing administrative support and organising cast and creative team participation in donor engagement events, where appropriate
HR, Management and Administration (CTD)
- Deputise for the Executive Director as required
Operations
- To line manage the Front of House and Bar Manager, taking responsibility for their development and training
- Ensure policy compliance and implementation in consultation with the Technical Manager including premises licensing, access policy, health & safety, risk assessment, environment policy, first-aid and fire marshal training and evacuation procedures
- Work with the Technical Manager and FOH and Bar Manager in the general management of the building including maintaining and renewing building maintenance and office supplier contracts
Other Duties
- Engage with and advocate for Tara Theatre’s mission to be a catalyst for change within the theatre industry, increase diversity and equitable access to cultural provision, creative opportunities and careers
- Adhere to, and actively contribute to, all Tara Theatre policies, including Equality (diversity,access, and equal opportunities), Environmental and Health & Safety
- Any other duties as may be reasonably required as part of supportive team
