According to Epic Games, Fortnite will be taken offline for server maintenance as part of the release of update 30.01. Coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Android and PC, update 30.01 will be available to download on the morning of May 31. Unfortunately, the latest update will be accompanied by a period of server downtime, which means you won’t be able to play Fortnite Battle Royale and Creative (not to mention LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing and Fortnite Festival) for a short period of time. If you’re missing your Fortite fix and want to know when you can log back into all of its various game modes, then check out the 30.01 server downtime schedule below.

The news was announced by Epic Games on X (formerly Twitter), alongside details on when servers will be taken offline for maintenance.

“We’re taking a brief downtime tomorrow 5/31 @ 4 AM ET to roll out some bug fixes,” reads an Epic Games tweet.

“Matchmaking will be disabled 30 minutes before downtime begins.”

For UK fans, this means that Fortnite will be taken offline in full at 9am BST, while matchmaking will be disabled at 8.30am.

Epic hasn’t revealed exactly when downtime will come to an end, but maintenance typically lasts for around a couple of hours.

However, based on the wording of the tweet, downtime isn’t expected to last as long as usual.

This means Fortnite, LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing and Fortnite Festival should all be back online at around 10am BST UK time.

Daily Express will update this article with the complete server downtime schedule on the morning of May 31.

In terms of what fans can expect, the new update will primarily focus on fixing some of the bugs that have cropped up since the start of the new season.

Based on the Fortnite community page, Epic Games is working on fixes for everything from Battle Royale to LEGO Fortnite.

According to Epic Games, this includes a problem with the setting ‘Lock Input Method as Mouse’ not working correctly, as well as the Daily Quest background appearing empty.

Likewise, some players have complained of losing fall damage immunity when using any form of Nitro in land and in water.

Full patch notes will be revealed on the morning of May 31. Daily Express will post the patch notes once they go live, so keep checking back for more information.
