Moneyfacts Group plc is the UK’s leading provider of retail financial product data and has been pioneering financial comparison technology for more thanb 35 years. 

Moneyfacts’ data is used by virtually every bank and building society in the UK, the Bank of England, Financial Conduct Authority, Financial Ombudsman Service, HM Treasury, Prudential Regulatory Authority and UK Finance.

INTEREST is a new digital journal from Moneyfacts, using our historic data, intelligent, impartial editorial and graphs to inform readers about what is going on with interest rates.

INTEREST is published every six weeks, to fit in with MPC meetings. It focuses specifically on inflation and rate setting. INTEREST seeks to identify the effects, positive or negative, interest rates have on the economy.

The role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a financial data journalist to join the team producing INTEREST.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality written content for the journal. This will include developing content ideas and news stories, extensive research to ensure accuracy and quality of information, and working with Moneyfacts data and analytics department to source relevant data and statistics, both current and historical.

Ideally you will be knowledgeable about financial services and have already had success writing news stories in this sector.

Essential skills/experience

  • Ability to take complex facts about the worlds of business, economics and finance and convey that information concisely to the audience.
  • Excellent writing skills, ability to write original and compelling copy
  • Previous experience producing high-impact communications in a range of formats
  • Previous experience working as a Journalist or Writer in the financial services arena
  • Good understanding of journalism ethics
  • Keen interest in current affairs
  • Ability to research and analyse historical data and identify trends
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Experience using data visualisation tools

Salary: Competitive salary, commensurate with skills and experience.
