LOGANAIR, the UK’s largest regional airline and lead operator at Aberdeen Airport celebrated carrying 1.5million customers at the airport this week by surprising a local family with free flights.
Aberdeen resident Rhys Jones was with his wife Zoe, four-year-old son Owen and one-year-old daughter Nia when he was welcomed at the check-in desk with a gift from Loganair. Rhys and Zoe are both accountants and were travelling on Loganair’s flight to Manchester to visit family with their young children.
From Aberdeen International Airport, Loganair is the largest airline operator, providing essential connectivity across its network throughout the UK and Europe. This includes direct services to Shetland, Orkney, Manchester, Norwich, Birmingham, Newquay and Belfast City as well as Esbjerg, Denmark and Stavanger, Norway.
Loganair’s extensive scheduled service network at Aberdeen accompanies a range of contract operations for major customers in the oil and gas and logistics sectors. It directly employs over 160 staff at the airport.
Rhys said: “It’s been a lovely surprise to be the winners of the free tickets today, and a great start to our long weekend away visiting family. We’ll use the free tickets for another trip to Manchester I think, or maybe further afield to see Stavanger!”
Luke Lovegrove, Chief Commercial Officer at Loganair, said: “Reaching 1.5million customers at our Aberdeen base is a tremendous milestone for Loganair. We are the largest airline operator for the city and remain committed to our teams on the ground and delivering a reliable, enjoyable service for our customers.
“Congratulations to the Jones family and thanks for helping us to celebrate this special occasion. We look forward to welcoming you back on board with us again soon.”
Robert Paterson, Head of Operations at Aberdeen International Airport said: “I am thrilled to extend our warmest congratulations to Loganair on reaching the impressive milestone of 1.5 million customers.
“This achievement not only underlines Loganair’s commitment to providing exceptional service but also highlights Aberdeen International Airport’s role as a vital hub for regional connectivity as part of our 90th year of operation.
“We are proud to partner with Loganair in facilitating seamless travel experiences for our passengers and look forward to continued success together in the years ahead.”
