A beautiful seaside village in Albania could be the perfect choice for a cheap beach holiday in 2024.

Dhermi is on the Ionian Sea and has some spectacular beaches as well as a fun nightlife scene.

The Albanian Riviera is one of Europe’s fastest-growing tourist destinations but it’s still an affordable spot for Brits looking for a bargain.

Express.co.uk found rooms for under £50 per night in July in four star hotels in the pretty seaside village on Booking.com.

While Albania is building an airport in Vlore, for now, tourists will need to fly to Tirana Airport to reach Dhermi. Although it takes around three and a half hours to reach Dhermi, it’s worth it for this incredible destination.

What to do in Dhermi

Beaches are top of the agenda in Dhermi with Dhermi Beach the best-rated piece of coastline on Tripadvisor.

Tourist ‘Ed P’ wrote: “Lovely beach! There are a lot of restaurants along the road. The beach is pebbles, the sea was lovely and uncrowded.”

Dhermi’s Pirate Cave is also one of its best attractions and tourists can explore the beautiful cave as part of a boat tour.

Dhermi’s old town could be mistaken for a Greek village and it’s a lovely place for a relaxing stroll.

If you’re looking for a little adventure, tourists can attempt to hike the Gjipe Canyon, which takes around two hours.

What to eat in Dhermi

Dhermi has some fantastic seafood restaurants while vegetarians will find fresh aubergine and pepper dishes.

Extend your stay

Tourists who rent a car or opt for public transport in Albania could extend their holiday to see more of the country.

Tirana is one of Europe’s most affordable city breaks with some interesting museums and affordable cocktail bars.

If you’re after just a beach break, why not head further down the coast to Saranda and Ksamil or catch the ferry across to Corfu?
