Euro 2024 Best Overdue Bets: Can England Win All 3 Group Games?

Friday marks the start of Euro 2024 in Germany where football fans all over the world will be watching with great interest.

The UK betting sites have England and France as favourites to lift the Henri Delaunay Trophy in Berlin on Sunday, July 14.

Ahead of the tournament, Gambling.com have studied the history books to find bets that are due to land at Euro 2024.

England To Win All Three Group Games

This will be England’s 11th appearance at a European Championship and their 27th major tournament in total.

Victory in the 1966 World Cup remains their only success, but can the Three Lions end 58 years of hurt on Germany soil?

In 1966, England opened with a goalless draw against Uruguay before winning their other group games against Mexico (2-0) and France (2-0).

England have only won all three group game once in their history at major tournaments, doing so in Spain 1982.

A Bryan Robson goal after just 27 seconds in a 3-1 win over France was the perfect start to their tournament, and further victories over Czechoslovakia (2-0) and Kuwait (1-0) raised expectations back home.

However, They failed to get out of the second group stage in that tournament following goalless draws with West Germany and hosts Spain.

Under Gareth Southgate, England have won their opening games in each of their last three major tournaments.

Can England start with a win over Serbia on Sunday, before taking on Denmark and Slovenia in their remaining two group games?

The Three Lions are 7/4 on betting apps to finish top of Group C with maximum points.

A 0-0 Draw To Start Euro 2024

Scotland take on Germany in Munich to get Euro 2024 up and running. The pressure is on teams to set the tone for the rest of the tournament.

Germany go into the opener as heavy favourites on football betting sites. No side wants to lose their first game as it leaves them with a mountain to climb to reach the Round of 16.

Scotland will happily take a point from their first game while Germany will be expected to win and lift the mood for football fans in the country after failing to get beyond the last 16 in their previous three tournaments.

This will be the second successive Euros where Scotland will face a country on home soil after holding England to a 0-0 draw at Wembley three years ago.

The last time a major tournament opened with a goalless draw was the 1982 World Cup when Italy and Poland played out a forgettable stalemate, before the Italians were crowned world champions.

The last 20 major tournaments have seen at least one goal scored in the opening fixture. A 0-0 draw between Germany and Scotland is 17/1 with BetUK.

A First Hat-Trick Since 2008?

Hat-tricks are few and far between at the European Championships. Only seven players have managed to achieve that feat in the Euros including French forward Michel Platini, who did it twice during the 1984 tournament on home soil.

David Villa is the last player to take home the match ball after scoring three times in a Euros game. The Spaniard did so in a 4-1 win over Russia in 2008 when Switzerland and Austria were joint-hosts.

Many players will have their sights set on winning the Golden Boot award in Germany and a hat-trick will certainly help.

Ukraine To Keep A Clean Sheet

Ukraine have reached the finals of the European Championship for the fourth successive tournament.

They failed to get out of their group in 2012 and 2016, but reached the quarter-finals three years ago where they lost 4-0 to England at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Amazingly, in their 11 matches played at the Euros, Ukraine has never kept a clean sheet, while they have failed to score in seven of those. Can this be the year Ukraine finally stop an opponent from scoring?

Serihy Rebrov will be confident after seeing his side keep clean sheets in two of their last three qualifiers against North Macedonia and Italy.

Ukraine are 6/4 with SpreadEx to keep a clean sheet in their opener against Romania in Munich.
