Jet2 has informed travellers of getting to airports in parts of the UK.
This is because closures and disruptions on motorways in England could make it more difficult to get to the airport.
In a warning, updated today, it encouraged holidaymakers to leave plenty of time if going to Newcastle Airport as roadworks will take place until November 2024.
It said: “We have been made aware of road works taking place on the A696 from 19th August until the 26th November. Diversion routes have been put in place.
There could be delays if heading to East Midlands Airport
PA
“National Highways have confirmed that resurfacing work will be completed affecting the airport access roundabout.
“These works will take place from approximately 22:00 with the road reopening from 06:00 the following morning. Please allow enough time to travel to Newcastle Airport as all Jet2.com flights are due to operate as scheduled.”
Those travelling on the motorway around Liverpool and Manchester could also be impacted by junction closures that start next week.
Jet2 continued: “We have been made aware of planned closures to the eastbound carriageway between Junction 18 and Junction 20 and the westbound carriageway between Junction 19 and Junction 20.
“This will be effective Friday 6th September 21:00 to Monday 9th 06:00 and Friday 20th September 21:00 – Monday 23rd September 06:00.
“Motorists are advised to avoid this section of the M62 during the above dates and plan an alternate route.”
Jet2 flights should leave as scheduled on these dates so it is important to arrive in plenty of time. Those travelling to and from East Midlands Airport are also likely to face delays until the end of the year.
Jet2 said: “We have been made aware of road works between Junction 23A and Junction 25 on the M1, one lane will be permanently closed on the Northbound and Southbound carriageways with a 50mph speed restriction in place. Delays are likely during peak hours.
“There will be sporadic closures of Junction 23A slip roads, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00. There will be signed diversions. Please allow enough time to travel to East Midlands Airport as all Jet2.com flights are due to operate as scheduled.”
