Popular Kannada director Ravi Srivatsa of Deadly Soma, Madesha and Dashamukha fame, has ventured into production with the launch of his own banner — Deadly Arts under which he is directing his latest film titled Gangs of UK.

Launch of Deadly Arts banner

The logo for Ravi Srivatsa’s production house, Deadly Arts, was recently unveiled along with the announcement of the latest project, Gangs of UK.

The logo of Deadly Arts banner was inaugurated by the wife of veteran director K.V. Raju, who played a key role in Ravi Srivatsa’s film career.

Ravi Srivatsa paid tribute to his mentor, K.V. Raju, with heartfelt tears as he recalled the valuable lessons he learned from the late director.

Speaking to media persons Ravi Srivatsa shared the journey behind Gangs of UK, which began in 2018.

“This is a story that took shape after K.V. Raju passed away and it has now come to life,” Ravi Srivatsa said.

“M.S. Ramesh narrated the script to me last December and we assembled a cast of 56 mostly new actors to bring this project to reality. We began filming in January and completed shooting recently,” the director said.

Inspired by real events

According to its makers, Gangs of UK is inspired by real events.

Ravi Srivatsa explained that the film revolves around the concept of bloodshed and its ability to carry stories from one person to another.

Writer and director M.S. Ramesh also credited K.V. Raju for shaping his career and expressed gratitude for the support received from local authorities in Bagalkot during the shoot of Gangs of UK. “We have included local talent like Umesh and Mahantesh Hullur in the film and the raw, authentic dialogues will resonate with the audience,” Ramesh said.

Gangs of UK will also see K.V. Raju’s son, Amogh, in the lead role, along with other newcomers such as Sonu Upadhyay, Praveen, Ugramm Reddy, Satya, Dhillon, Naveen Krishna Puttur and Prajwal Muski. Journalist Naveen Krishna Puttur plays the role of Minister Bangarappa Bhosaraj. The film also features 9 songs, including 8 bits inspired by the works of social reformer, philosopher and poet Shishunala Sharif with music composed by Sadhu Kokila.
