Businesses in Charnwood are being urged to sign up for a free event which will offer top tips, keynote speakers and networking opportunities to help them develop.

Going for Growth will be held on Friday, 8 November 2024 as part of the Leicester Business Festival.

It is being organised by inCharnwood, the borough council’s economic development and regeneration team. The event will be held at Loughborough’s prestigious Charnwood Campus, a science, innovation and technology park which is home to a number of successful businesses.

Guest speakers include serial entrepreneur Luke Tobin who started his first business at 19 including Digital Ethos and Tobin Capital. Luke will be offering an insight into his journey in the business world.

There will also be a chance to find out more about Charnwood’s Scale-up programme which can help established businesses which want to expand. The scheme can give businesses a comprehensive diagnostic to establish your priorities, compose an action plan and agree a business improvement project.

This could include a grant contribution to use to fund an expert to help remove barriers and accelerate growth.

Other speakers will be confirmed in due course and the event will also include lunch and networking opportunities.

Attendance is free but booking is essential and can be done online at: www.incharnwood.com/goingforgrowth

Chris Grace, head of economic development and regeneration, said: “Charnwood is a great place to do business and we are keen to help smaller businesses expand and deliver their full potential.

“If you’re a business and considering how you may expand, this will be a great event for you. You will get to hear from people who have grown businesses, find out more about the support available as well as get the chance to network with delegates from the private and public sector.”

There will be an opportunity for businesses and business support organisations to exhibit. Anyone interested in doing so should email Lorraine Farley lorraine.farley@charnwood.gov.uk

The Going for Growth event will run from 9am until 1pm. For more information and to sign up, visit: www.incharnwood.gov.uk
