BP has appointed Hannah Munns as UK convenience trading director.

With over two decades of retail experience, she previously worked with Marks & Spencer as head of hospitality and also held the role of head of Market Street strategy, innovation and concept development at the Morrisons supermarket chain.

Earlier in her career, she worked with Asda as senior director – fresh meals solutions and frozen foods.

In new position, Munns will report to David Phillpot, BP’s convenience trading director in Europe, and will lead the growth of BP’s convenience business in the UK through its long-standing partnership with M&S.

Phillpot said: “We are thrilled to welcome Hannah to our UK convenience team. Her extensive experience in the retail and hospitality sector, and proven track record of driving growth and transformation, makes her a valuable addition to the convenience team.

“We are serious about food at BP and I’m excited about the new products Hannah’s team is introducing to our stores, including the M&S Gastropub x Tom Kerridge range, that will help us achieve our aim of being first choice for customers on the roadside.”

Convenience is currently one of BP’s five strategic transition growth engines. The company’s network of over 1,150 UK branded retail sites includes 300 company owned and operated stores with a BP Wild Bean Cafe, M&S Food and branded grocery convenience offering.
