The picturesque town of St Ives in Cornwall is a popular destination not just in the summer but also during the autumn months.

Renowned for its four stunning beaches and quaint cobbled streets lined with traditional whitewashed fisherman cottages, the coastal village transforms into a magical setting with golden hues and crisp air, perfect for cosy evenings in local pubs and refreshing beach walks.

According to the OLGB’s Holiday Entertainment Index, St Ives ranks second as the most preferred destination for families planning a UK staycation at any time of the year.

Budget-conscious holidaymakers can secure a short stay in a popular holiday park for as little as £9 per person, per night, even during the half-term holiday.

Despite its popularity making it a pricey option during school holidays, there are affordable ways to enjoy everything St Ives has to offer.

Just a short distance away in the village of Hayle, Riviere Sands Holiday Park backs onto Towans Beach – named the best beach in the UK by The Times in 2024. Right now Haven is offering three-night Hideaway breaks during the October half term from just £109.

With caravan accommodation suitable for up to four guests, you could enjoy a last-minute seaside break for as little as £9 per guest, per night.

Haven Hideaways has introduced a cost-effective way for holidaymakers to enjoy the British seaside by offering accommodation without access to certain on-site entertainment and activities.

While guests won’t have access to swimming pools or paid-for activities, they can still indulge in the park’s restaurants, arcades, and takeaway food options, reports The Mirror

This makes for an excellent base to explore the stunning British coastline, particularly around St Ives, known for its warm climate with mild winters and some of the warmest summers in Britain and Northern Europe.

With only 673mm of rainfall annually and about 97 rainy days, St Ives is an attractive destination throughout the year.

Visitors to Riviere Sands in St Ives have shared glowing reviews on Tripadvisor. Lorrie55191 commented: “Well equipped comfortable Caravan with dishwasher included. Stunning views of the bay with easy access to the beach. We particularly enjoyed the Bluff bar which affords a beautiful picturesque view of the beach.”

Shelley R also praised the location: “It is the most incredible place to stay if you are wanting to explore Cornwall Everywhere is a few minutes away in the car or a lovely train station in Hayle.”

However, not all guests were pleased with their experience, particularly when it came to the food. Jasmin S expressed her disappointment, stating: “The chip shop of site is not great. The chips arrived cold and the fish didn’t even taste like fish. For the price and the fact it’s a seaside town you expect better.”

Those looking for a half-term getaway should act fast to secure a spot at Haven.

Other fantastic deals can be found with Sykes Cottages and Booking.com for autumn stays.
