The left-back was taken off late on against Wolves after suffering a heel problem
Arne Slot has played down injury concerns for Andy Robertson after the Liverpool defender was forced off in the closing stages of Saturday’s 2-1 win at Wolves. Rayan Ait-Nouri cancelled out Ibrahima Konate’s first-half header at Molineux before a Mohamed Salah penalty, given after Diogo Jota was wrestled to the ground, restored the lead around the hour mark for the visitors.
The victory was enough to take Liverpool to the top of the Premier League but there was some worry over Robertson’s condition after he was hurt in a tangle with lively substitute Carlos Forbs and replaced by Joe Gomez late on.
Slot, though, is not expecting to be given bad news on the situation of his first-choice left-back, saying he expects the Scotland captain to report for duty as normal on Monday at the AXA Training Centre.

“I don’t expect it to be a big problem although you never know,” Slot said. “I think he just got a knock in the end stage of the game, maybe he was a bit tired as well.

“The guy who came in, Forbs, I knew him from Dutch competition, he made it a real fight for him as well. He got a bit of a knock but I’m expecting him to be in training Monday again, but let’s wait.
“The first 15 minutes were difficult for us. Wolves had a week to prepare and if you have a very good manager like Gary O’Neil, who is tactically really strong and comes up with a really good gameplan, that’s what he did.”
Slot added: “We were ready for this, but you have to wait to see what he exactly does. He overloaded our right side in a good manner which made it difficult for us to control the game in the first 15-20 minutes.
“When it calmed down a bit, the energy (from Wolves) went away and maybe I think we took more and more control of the game. For me, it wasn’t a surprise when we scored the goal because in those moments we were getting better and better, and we had a big chance in Dominik Szoboszlai.
“I was almost surprised when we conceded in the second half, because in the second half we had much more control than in the first half. We conceded a goal that was avoidable, let’s put it that way.”
