At the University of Birmingham Business School, our education is core for our current and prospective students, as well as our staff. Birmingham Business School (BBS) is proactive in adapting and reflecting on pedagogic practice. This became more prevalent with the constant change in education environment and with a focus on a Responsible Business Agenda. One of the School’s key objectives is to provide a high-quality and innovative curriculum that is research intensive and ensures an inclusive student experience. With the ever-growing student numbers on BBS programmes, the demands surrounding these numbers and the diversity of our programmes, our pedagogical approach needs to incorporate transformational and innovative practices which suit the needs of both our academics and students to be carry on being a leading business school in the world.
Business Education Research and Scholarship (BERS) is a strategic initiative at BBS aimed at fostering a culture of innovative and impactful educational research, scholarship (practice). BERS focuses on developing high-quality, research-intensive educational practices that not only enhance the learning experience of our students but also contribute to the broader academic community and society at large. By aligning with the University of Birmingham’s 2030 strategy, BERS aims to position BBS as a leading University in business education research and scholarship.
