Accountancy firm Johnston Carmichael announces new Aberdeen partner promotion – Aberdeen Business News

LEADING independent UK accountancy and business advisory firm Johnston Carmichael has strengthened its leadership team with five senior promotions across the business including a new Aberdeen Partner.

Gillian McColgan, who joined the firm as a graduate in 2011, becomes Tax Partner. She enters the partnership group along with Graeme Bain, based in Glasgow, who becomes Restructuring Partner; and Sally Hewish, who is based in London and becomes Audit Partner – Audit Quality, Risk and Technical.

The partner promotions are complemented by two director level promotions. Ryan Milne, in Dundee, becomes Business Advisory Director; and Keith Hamilton, in Edinburgh, becomes General Counsel.

Gillian delivers tax compliance and advisory services across various sectors, including Energy, Engineering and Manufacturing and Food and Drink. Gillian deals with businesses of all sizes, ranging from UK-based innovative start-up companies to listed entities and large companies forming part of multinational groups.

Gillian leads the firm’s Corporate Interest Restriction offering and also has extensive experience of intangible asset transactions and Patent Box tax relief, with a particular interest in the tax implications of companies’ IP strategy.

She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) and holds a degree in Accountancy from the University of Glasgow.
