Bad news for last minute shoppers (Picture: Bloomberg via Getty Images)

Last-minute Christmas shoppers are facing chaos this morning as Morrisons More loyalty card is not working.

Customers can get big discounts and bonus points using their More card in the lead-up to the big day – but many are not receiving their promotions and discounts as planned.

Plus, many shoppers save up their vouchers throughout the year specifically to use them in the lead-up to Christmas, further compounding the problem.

One person posted a photo of an error message at a self-checkout, which reads: ‘We are really sorry some promotions and discounts are not working at this time.’

The Morrisons website also appears to be down, with a ‘502 bad gateway’ error message on some pages.

One customer claimed their ‘server is down,’ and others said they were unable to access their click and collect orders, LBC reports.

Customers have turned to X, asking Morrisons how to claim refunds for the products they incorrectly had to pay full price for.

Manisha Kalyan said: ‘Hi, none of the more card prices came off because of a systems issue 2 days before Christmas… I have my receipt, can you tell me how to get a refund on all the stuff I had to wrongly pay the higher price for? Thanks.

‘You’ve also charged pull price for the carrots and parsnips.’

Another claimed their Christmas order containing the turkey and everything they needed for the big day, due to be delivered this afternoon, has suddenly been cancelled.

‘I’m due to have my christmas order delivered today between 16.30 and 1730. It has my turkey and everything I need for Christmas on,’ they said.

‘I’ve just had an email from you saying you couldn’t fulfil my order and it’s been cancelled. What am I meant to do I can’t get to shops.’

Another claimed they had been overcharged by about £40, and demanded a full refund before leaving the store.

They said: ‘It’s a good job I checked my receipt before leaving the store. I’d been overcharged by about £40. Got a full refund and walked out.

‘NO information in store, check out staff aren’t telling customers, how many have overpaid and not realised?’
