Job Description

The Community Artist will be responsible for developing and delivering a series of workshops in schools and/or care homes as part of our ‘One thing…’ Lottery funded intergenerational project.

Role: Intergenerational community artist Contract: Freelance Hours:

Half days £100 per half day- number of days may vary depending on your availability.

Location: Hybrid. Out on location (where workshops take place- Maldon and Chelmsford) and at home.

Responsible for: This role is responsible for developing the workshop and outcomes from the intergenerational project- One thing.

Line Managed By: Project Manager About the role

The post holder will work with the Project Manager to establish and deliver a new program of intergenerational workshops across three schools. You will also work as part of the project team that includes a project manager and volunteers. The workshops will be animation/film and craft based.

Basic Stop Motion training can be provided to the right candidate.

Experience of working with community groups on creative projects, ideally children of KS2 age and older generations.

Excellent workshop design and delivery skills and interpersonal skills.

Interest in the use of film and animation with participants.

Focused on outcomes of the workshops and able to work behind the scenes to prepare for workshops and to work on final outcome films so that the project is successful.

Providing data on engagement and participation to project manager.
